We had our April showers, now here come the May flowers. These were all taken along the nature trail and around the duck ponds in the Dykeman Wetlands Park on my usual day off run to the grocery store.

Roy, these are lovely. They are wildflowers? It would be awesome if you knew their names....:)
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who paints the alpine wildflowers of N.H. The one that comes to mind is a bluet but I think she's also painted Jack in the Pulpits and quite a few others.
The flowers are, top to bottom: Common Wintercress (a type of wild Mustard), Dame's Rocket, Daisy Fleabane, Honeysuckle, Swamp Buttercup, and that last one is an unknown flowering shrub.
Deletethose glossy yellow ones? They spread like wildfire. ha. If you don't want your yard taken over, don't plant a tiny root. Believe me, I know my experience! lol.
ReplyDeleteThat's actually Swamp Buttercup, which isn't nearly as prolific as the regular kind.
Delete...spring flowers always lift the heart! I always like seeing the fuzzy fleabane blossoms in spring! Did you hear any warblers going through?
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard or seen any warblers, unfortunately. I'm extremely jealous coz all my old birding buddies back up in Newport are having a field day up at Miantinomi Park, Newport's Spring warbler mecca. At the moment I'm waiting for the return of the Baltimore Orioles.
DeleteI've always got a soft spot for the purple ones.
ReplyDeleteHi Steph! That's Dame's Rocket, and it's one of my favorites, too.
