On Gooseneck Cove, taken while celebrating the Summer Solstice at the spot where I usually celebrate. This picture was taken yesterday because it's raining today. The temperature was around 65º F/18º C, no sun, lots of fog. Oh well, at least everything's green. Happy Summer!

The Weather Is Like That Every Day in England!
ReplyDeleteGreat Shot.Merry MidSummer Sir!
happy summer. the weather you reported is my ideal of PERFECTION! I kid you not!
ReplyDeleteI hope I can visit gooseneck cove one of these days, from your photos I feel I would be right at home there!
The foggy, foggy dew. Love it.
ReplyDeleteMay the love and light of this day flavor the coming months. Namaste.
ReplyDelete...it's a very beautiful photo...so peaceful, lush and green. Happy summer solstice! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, man...That's where I'd celebrate it, too.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, rain or shine, there were bonfires all over Ireland. It's the one allowed burn day of the year, so people take advantage of it by lighting up a year's worth of accumulated junk. Last year, one of our neighbors on the cove set about doing just that and wound up hosting a solstice party (St. John's Eve, as we call it there.)
P. S. How about that Nick Green? A walkoff wrapped around the Pesky Pole?! That's my idea of how to celebrate the solstice!
ReplyDeleteP.P.S. Great first entry on Just A Song! Thanks so much for your contribution and contributions to come.
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody! The emphasis on the gloomy, foggy aspect is that we've been in a stretch of weather where we only get one sunny day out of every 8 or so. I don't mind the temps so much, but now that the sun has hit the high point in its travels, I really wouldn't mind temps in the mid 70s. That and sun a little more often would make me think it's really Summer.
ReplyDeleteK - I don't think there's anything dry enough to burn around here. And as for Nick Green, yeah that was something. Although I can't help the wistful wish that it had been Papi who'd hit that one.
As to the Just A Song entry, I kinda felt like I owed Dan that one. And I'm looking around for my next choice.
We only got up into the mid-70's, but the skies were clear by early afternoon (after the June Gloom burnoff).
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed your celebration.
I love this photo, Roy. It's very reminiscent of a place that I once visited. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a fun summer!!
Happy summer to you too!
