Up on South Mountain

Today I went up on South Mountain with my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew. We went up to Laurel Lake in the Pine Grove Furnace State Park and then on to King's Gap, a site that overlooks the whole Cumberland Valley from atop the mountain. We had some adventures along the way, due mostly to the car's GPS being a tad wonky and leading us over the top of the mountain on a gravel fire road, and telling us we'd arrived at King's Gap when we were obviously in the middle of nowhere. But despite that it was worth the adventure for the photos that resulted. Come take a look.

  2. Thank you, Roy. These photos certainly were worth your adventure; and such a delight to sense a bit of it vicariously through your words and pictures. I used to walk around Laurel Lake or just sit on a bench or table and meditate. Very calming.

    1. Boromax, it was an especially busy day at Laurel Lake that day; well, as "busy" as a crowd of old codgers (says this equally old codger) sitting around fishing can be. Apparently they'd just stocked the lake with Trout that morning, so all the old duffers who fish there regularly were out in force to partake of the bounty. Still quiet and meditative, though; after all, what else is fishing all about?
