Autumnal Stones

Samhain is coming!

And as an extra treat... Today is Paul Simon's birthday! Can you believe the man is actually 69? I was listening to Simon & Garfunkel records in junior high, fer pete's sake! Anyhow, I thought I'd get nostalgic, and instead of posting one of Paul's post S&G tunes I thought I'd go with my very favorite old Simon & Garfunkel tunes from the Bookends album: "America". Whenever my feet start to itch with the urge to go somewhere, this is always the song that runs in my head! Happy Birthday, Paul!

  1. Happy Wednesday to you! Their ingenuity and creativity has been a joy to watch and hear. My favorite is "bridge over troubled water" and has inspired me to a painting last year on "Art Notes" my second blog page. I'm gonna listen to the video you posted!

  2. It's a beautiful song for sure--the man who wrote "How terribly strange to be 70" is almost there.

  3. That's one of my all-time favorite S&G songs! It was one of those which I put on a cassette back in '82, so I'd have my very own "soundtrack" when I took a cross-country bus ride to do some research on a long-abandoned story called "Peace Meal" [sic].

  4. Ah love fall. Perhaps I should make some Halloween thingies for my son's engagement party on the 30th . .er perhaps not. Sixty nine? Good grief. My birthday on Saturday, how did I get to be this old.
