Rock is the ultimate reality where New England meets the ocean. Sure, there are beaches, and then there's Cape Cod, but most of New England's coastline is dominated by rock. And we're certainly no different here in Newport. On Saturday I wandered down to the Cliff Walk to that little beach at the end of Marine Ave. to see if any of those Laughing Gulls were still there. No luck, but somebody had created some balanced stone sculptures on the rocks there, and I got some shots of them. I also got a shot of the rock that dominates that little beach. So here's my take on the Newport coastline.
