Friday Walkabout

A few scenes from today's hike.

Gooseneck Cove at high tide.

Along the Twin Ledges Trail in Ballard Park.

The decorative wall around Harbour Court, the home of the Newport annex of the New York Yacht Club.

The Newport municipal pier at high tide.

The Sail Newport sailing class came ashore at King Park for a picnic.

And I'll close with a little humor:

"Whinin' Boy, I don't deny my name". One of this year's Herring Gull hatchlings (the brown one to the right) literally whining at the adult to be fed. Which reminded me of this song:

  1. I would love to live in one of those two homes by the water.

  2. Beautiful as always and I definitely have dibs on that white house by the lake. I'd give a kidney to live there frankly.

  3. There's just something about water, isn't there? Whether it's the cove or the pier...it's just beautiful. I love the line of clouds just above the horizon in the first picture! And I always crack up at those young birds, sometimes bigger than their parents, and still needing care. ha.

  4. Those first 2 shots in particular are so serene. Lovely.
I like the close up of the wall, too.

  5. You live in such a beautiful place. I never tire of the waters and birds - and your very individual "eye" for the unusual-beautiful. The mossy terra-cotta wall being a prime example.

  7. Roy, you have a real gift for shooting water. I've never seen anything like it.

Great video! The entire concert (both sets) is on Youtube; the poster even numbered each video sequentially by set.
