According to California radio evangelist Harold Camping, all the "true Christians" in the world will be taken up to heaven (called the "Rapture" in traditional Christian eschatology) around suppertime this evening. Of course most rational people just laugh this one off, especially as he's made this same prediction several times before. But I got to thinking; if his "true Christians" are like him and the other types who take this sort of thing seriously, then I hope it happens. Because it'll mean all the disgruntled, misanthropic sourpusses will be gone and the Earth will be left to those of us who actually know how to enjoy life. That sounds good to me! PARTY TIME!

I haven't felt even a tiny pull toward heaven today! ha. Well, except that we have sunshine for the first time in a month! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a Christian, but not one of the over-bearing holier-than-thou, I'm-right-you're wrong, do-it-my-way types. Most Christian believers know that the Bible says that no one except for God Himself knows when the rapture will occur. Not the angels, and not even Jesus! But Harold Camping knows? Okay, sure...
ReplyDeleteThat photo is incredible, by the way!
oh yeah!!!!
ReplyDeletewe're on the same page!!
have always loved this song..... it's 8:27 and i'm here and i feel fine....i'm hope some of the obnoxious intolerant folks that make my blood pressure rise WILL be gone to their heavenly home and are happy and no longer polluting our airwaves and consuming more than their fair share of the world's LIMITED resources.....
oh yeah, the mouse could go on a rant.
