Some painterly approaches to some of my favorite photos of the last month or so. A little day off activity because I didn't have a chance to get out and about.

A potpourri of photography and words about Nature, social issues, and anything else that crosses my path during the day.
the second looks a lot like the little worker's sheds in Provence; cabinets? I can't think of the word right now.
ReplyDeleteI really like the painterly approach...especially the first two--the second being my favorite.
ReplyDeletei really, really need to get photoshop....such fun!!
ReplyDeletealthough i worry, with photoshop i expect i'd find yet another rabbit hole to fall into!!
i must agree with tut-tut about that second snap... reminds me of cezanne's atelier - could that be the word she's hunting for!!!
I need to see if my photo editing software (picnik) has a painterly selection. I think it's my favorite of the ones you show us!
ReplyDeleteExquisite, all three. I've particularly liked the wooden buckets & the shed in all their manifestations!
ReplyDeleteLove the little cottage but somehow the others look a bit 'paint by numbers' to me. I love that you can manipulate photos in Photoshop (I recently removed a rather nasty cold sore from a young bride's upper lip and she was thrilled) but I'm a bit of a purist (not a very good one mind you) and love the challenge of trying to get that perfectly lit shot with natural light and an amazing subject and no manipulation.
ReplyDeleteI love that second one, but they all look great!
ReplyDeleteI like this very much.
ReplyDeleteCool!! They really do look like paintings, especially the cottage.
ReplyDeleteRoy, your images are inspirational. And that is no mean or hollow complement. They make me want to travel down the same road as you : both in places and techniques. Respect, my friend.
