It's not Winter yet according to the calendar, but we're not fooled; it's cold, the ground is hard, and although there's no snow on the ground the trees are bare and the world seems to be painted in various shades of brown and gray, with highlights of red and green here and there in keeping with the Winter holiday season. We're in a transitional stage, a sort of Winter/not Winter. A walk through the Dykeman Spring Nature Park today seems to emphasize that state.

Don't you miss that beautiful snow we had a month ago? Sigh! ha.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a breezy day with the ripples on the pond!
Isn't it funny how just a few miles, maybe 150, separate the icy, frozen snow in NH to the still winter-free landscape in RI?
ReplyDeleteCG, this isn't RI, it's Central PA. I moved here in October of 2010 out of economic necessity. If I could afford it I'd be back in Newport in a flash, but in the meantime I'm taking in the beauties of Cumberland Valley and South Mountain.
