There is a miner's graveyard in the small hamlet of Roslyn (where Northern Exposure was filmed) that dates back to the late 19th century -- it's up and over Snoqualmie Pass, just on the eastern side of the Cascade Mountains. The graveyard is nearly as big as the town! It makes a great day-trip, and many photo-ops. You'd really love it.T. https://www.blogger.com/profile/16509409207991963533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-18719348305391791422010-01-03T10:15:09.274-05:002010-01-03T10:15:09.274-05:00it is beautiful, but makes for scary driving. Last Winter and now this one seem to be hitting my all-time favorite list.

tut - Nah, not a nor'easter; it's only about 4 or 5 inches, and when it's finally done tomorrow the count may rise to 6 or 7 inches. This is just average Winter stuff. The 22 inches we got on Dec. 19 & 20, now that was a nor'easter!

Thanks Skip!

Colette - This cemetery is one of my favorite spots in Newport, and it looks even better in Spring and Summer. It's a small, cozy little place tucked into a residential neighborhood, with graves going back to the 1600s and early 1700s. What makes this place a gem is that 3 backyard gardens border it, and in flower season actually tend to spill into it, making the place absolutely gorgeous. I'm gonna have to do one of my "Ghosts of Newport Past" spotlight photo essays on this one sometime soon.Royhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01648670975466222140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-22776074737402025842010-01-02T20:33:38.925-05:002010-01-02T20:33:38.925-05:00Wow I am jealous of your perfect photo opportunity...Wow I am jealous of your perfect photo opportunity local!!!
