But pretty, which means I still enjoy pictures.

When I lived in Las Vegas, I had the best of all worlds. Wonderful hot/dry climate but, if I felt I needed snow, we could drive up to the mountains. And we had a very active ski club since the skiing was a 30 minute drive away.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-82023740724440092952009-02-11T00:26:00.000-05:002009-02-11T00:26:00.000-05:00Sal - thanks for the translation. I used it because it's my favorite shot yet of snow in my usual hangout in Ballard Park. As for more snow... Well, the ground is bare, and it's still Winter. We're having our February thaw at the moment (called "Strawberry Spring" by the old-timers), but we usually get our biggest storms after the thaw. And being a born snow freak, I look forward to it with great pleasure.

Iris - will a nice hot mug of chai masala do? And a shot of Calvados in that is really good!

Kelly - thanks! That was a tough one to get around in, though. It was the really wet, heavy stuff, and half the trails in Ballard Park were impossible to walk because tree branches and shrubs weighted down with the snow were blocking them.

Steph - ah! You wimps down there in Texas! Heh, heh! You can't ski on virtual snow. Or make snowmen with it.Royhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01648670975466222140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-41093637940067578362009-02-11T00:12:00.000-05:002009-02-11T00:12:00.000-05:00Perfect, my favorite kind of snow: virtual :)Perfect, my favorite kind of snow: virtual :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-51518675209539353422009-02-10T22:30:00.000-05:002009-02-10T22:30:00.000-05:00This is an absolutely gorgeous post...I love it!!!...This is an absolutely gorgeous post...I love it!!!! Though if this scene was close-by, I suppose I would prefer to see it from the safe confines of a window seat by a cozy fire, while sipping a brandy or a Mexican hot cocoa. Thank you for sharing!Iris313https://www.blogger.com/profile/02974192698371225262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-73102424334264163942009-02-10T19:37:00.000-05:002009-02-10T19:37:00.000-05:00all I got to say is I hope this is not a new photo...all I got to say is I hope this is not a new photo...something about this time of year that no matter how beautiful fresh snow is...the beauty does not resonate...rather oh dam more #$&*^ snow!

Now this in the beginning of December is quite exciting.

I am waiting anxiously for spring. Something about the spring flowers and budding trees that makes you feel hopeful and anything is possible!

It is a wonderful photo though!Colette Ameliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03442660605798634154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-70715432595609668532009-02-10T17:31:00.000-05:002009-02-10T17:31:00.000-05:00Interrompendo Por Woods On A Snowy Evening De quem...Interrompendo Por Woods On A Snowy Evening

De quem são estas madeiras eu acho que sei,
Sua casa fica na aldeia embora.
Ele não vai me ver parar aqui,

O único outro som é a varredura,
Vento macio e fácil de escamas.NB.

As madeiras são adoráveis, escuros e profundos,
Mas eu tenho promessas a manter,
E quilómetros a percorrer antes de dormir,
E quilómetros a percorrer antes de eu durmo.

- Robert Frost

A beautiful poem, translated into Portuguese as well to understand it better.
Congratulations this is a beautiful poem, so your picture is beautiful, beautiful.

provided to my felitacionesSal Troccolihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09680135427449732916noreply@blogger.com
