It takes a lot of words to say 'Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year' versus Happy Holidays. Furthermore, businesses really need to make a profit to survive, so they need to serve everyone. How is a greeting that wishes well to all God's children a slap in the face of any." Hmmm good point. Tolerance for the season. I vote for it!Iris313https://www.blogger.com/profile/02974192698371225262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-51523144469421532542009-12-18T17:19:43.726-05:002009-12-18T17:19:43.726-05:00I really get the irits about Christ and Christmas....I really get the irits about Christ and Christmas. I have nothing against the holy roller but frankly Christmas was hijacked by early Christianity for their own purposes. Why invent a celebratory holiday when one already exists. Surely all the facets of Christmas can be enjoyed whether you're a christian or a pagan. Another one that gets me is Easter. If it's the time of Christ's crucifixion and ascension, how come it's still on a different day every year! Truth be told, nobody knows when the poor man was crucified. Easter is about fertility and the rites of spring. Great post Roy. Well researched too.Bainohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14156193098088048637noreply@blogger.com
