Nowadays most of us think of ways not to be buried, taking up space, etc. But there is something very ethereal about the beautiful old grave yards that are maintained.California Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12582691517303132274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-19397856385446993712009-05-02T01:51:00.000-04:002009-05-02T01:51:00.000-04:00...very nice stones. For Newport specifically it's Mallet & Chisel: Gravestone Carvers of Newport, Rhode Island, In the 18th Century by Vincent F. Luti. And for colonial New England the chief source is Graven Images: New England Stonecarving and its Symbols, 1650-1815. These two books are indispensable if you're at all interested in old colonial-era New England graveyards. It's a fascinating field.Royhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01648670975466222140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22689800.post-38020145217098729162009-05-01T18:03:00.000-04:002009-05-01T18:03:00.000-04:00very interesting, Roy.
